HITAWASANA : Studies on Indonesian Archeology

This book consists of various articles with different themes about ancient culturalphenomena from all over Indonesia, such as Central Java, West Java, andSumatra. This description mostly discusses the ancient Java, in particularMajapahit ( 14th ? 15th Centuries ). These different themes are tied in one discipline,Indonesian Arkeology. Two articles in the book are strongly felt to beimportant are Patirthan (Literally translated as The Holy Waterspring) and theone about Lost Letters on the stone inscriptions. Other articles are newinterpretations of the archeological data that the previous archeologists havediscused, among others reading narrative reliefs of Borobudur Temple, AncientSundanese structures, and the ones about the symbolic meanings of Sriwijayainscription placement in Sumatera. It is really expected that what is presentedin this book can be accepted by those who have interests on ancient cultures inIndonesian.
